For the 8th consecutive year, the Great Lakes Women’s Soccer League will be supporting the Magic as they play a special Alzheimer’s Awareness game, “Kicking Grass, Ending ALZ”. This has become an annual tradition as a part of The Longest Day, a fundraising event supporting the Alzheimer’s Association MI Chapter. It all takes place at Founders Sports Park in Farmington. There will be a tent with Alzheimer’s and dementia information and resources, a place to donate, yard games, and some treats! Game Day is JULY 27th
As another way to join in the fight to #ENDALZ, you can donate at this link: act.alz.org/goto/kickinggrass. Donations are accepted through August 31st.
Please also share our fundraising efforts and this video, created by the leader of this event, Brandi Becker-Wright, about her caregiving journey, with your friends, families, coworkers, and networks via social media and e-mail.
The statistics are staggering.
- There are more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s
– over 180,000 in Michigan alone. - 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
- Alzheimer’s kills more people than breast and prostate cancer combined!
Your support is appreciated. No matter how big or how small the donation, it is a key factor in helping those who are and will be affected. Together we can Kick Grass to End ALZ!
